Default RE: Disappointed with the 12" Klockwerks shield

Hi
I am new to this site but I wanted to put in my 2 cents worth! I drive a 2007 roadglide and love it except for the buffeting problem. Like everyone else I did some research and thought Klockwerks would be a good choice. Plus they look great. First thing I noticed was that the 12 inch high shield is not 12 inches high! It is 4 inches lower than stock! Installed it anyway and took it for a drive. Terrible! More wind and buffeting than I had before! Returned it and got most of my money back. Lost on the shipping and restocking with Dennis Kirk. Contacted Klockwerks and got no reply. Thinking of trying the Clearview.

This shield is designed to provide wind protection and downforce at high speed.&nbsp\\; It is, in effect, a spoiler.
&nbsp\\;
Your helmet can also be source of buffeting.
&nbsp\\;
I have the 12 inch and ain't giving it up.&nbsp\\; Its great in the summer and smooths out airflow for me.&nbsp\\; The stock windshield was not only ugly, but caused greater buffeting with my full and half helmets.
&nbsp\\;
Form follows function...

I have a Cee Baileys SSC on my FLHT and I find it an improvement over stock however I don't believe that any windshield (stock, bailey, clockwerks, etc) addresses the problems inherent in the Harley Batwing fairing, that being the updraft and associated buffeting. The air running under the fairing rushes up to fill the negative pressure behind the fairing. Certainly you've all seen the guys with the longs beards blowing UP when they ride? There's a great article on 'wind control on a Harley FLH' to be found at roadspirit.com&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;
