They wouldn't even talk to me as a buyer.

RE: They wouldn't even talk to me as a buyer.
I went into my local dealership looking to buy a new Heritage Softail a couple years ago. Everything was going great until....they found out I had my own financing. From that point forward, I feel like I was being treated like ****. Every question I had after that was answered with a "Are you still here?" kind of attitude. I just couldn't understand why the sudden change in attitude towards me. They spent 30 minutes trying to convince me to go with dealership financing, but could not tell me any advantages over my credit union....
Anyway...Get down there and rub it in their faces. They probably won't give a crap, but it'll make you feel better.

When I bought my last bike, the "salesman" said he couldn't give me a price unless I gave him a $1000.00 deposit first. Then I would have the distinct privilege of getting a consultation with their chrome specialist. After my deposit and consultation, he could then price out the bike for me. I had bought another bike from the same dealer a couple of years earlier...he even looked it up in his computer. Guess he thought I was a tire kicker. I demanded a different salesman and had the second guy not been as good as he was, I would have walked. Luckily, the original guy is no longer employed by that dealer. I don't know what these clowns are thinking. As much as one of thesepigs costs, you'd think they'd be willing to kiss your a** at least a little...one cheek maybe?

Hack, as part of my profession I can't say you should do that.... All of the BS CYA aside, GIVE EM HELL!!! I bought my first bike from Woodstock Harley Davidson in Woodstock IL. It was my first motorcycle, a 2005 Fatboy. I told them what my budget was and what my monthly payment could be and as I'm not the most financially intelligent person, they came back with a monthly payment for that bike that was within a few bucks of what I said I could do. Now, good for them, but did I really need a 6 year warranty? I know they stuffed that in, I should have paid more attention, to get the price to what I said the most I could afford was. If they would have talked to me more about it, I would have come backwhen I sold the Fatboy and got a new Eglide, but insteadI went to Kutter HD in Janesville. They treated me right and didn't play any games with me. I don't really think that alot of the dealers care about the customer and thats fine. Just so long as they fake it long enough when someone comes in and dumps a chunk of cash on a new ride. Remember that many dealers get so busy from word of mouth about their service or general business, so when one sucks, let people know and go somewhere else.

He is probably still there. That is how that dealer does business. When I was buying my bike I went there first. I told them what I wanted and what kind of deal I was looking for. I wasn't asking for alot, just a fair deal. They didnt even want to talk to me about it, they just said they couldn't help me. I went to the dealer in Sanford the same day and told them the same thing and they were as happy as a pig in **** to sell me my bike. Every time I am at the daytona dealer I make it a point to go look at the new bikes just hoping the salesman will walk up to me so I can tell him the story. I wouldn't buy a bike from them ever even if it was 5K under MSRP. Rossmeyer will change or he will go down. No two ways about it. Things are not like they used to be.

What bugs me is that some "sales people" are so green. The first thing they hit you with coming in the door is "You wanna buy one tonight?" When you throw your hands up in denial they retreat to their office to play on the computer until the next person appears....no chit chat or trying to sell you, they want to write the order and go home.

I walk back in there now and every one greets me, "Hey, Bobby", "How's it going, Bobby" - they remember my name. If I had known then, what I know now, I never would have gone to Daytona in the first place.
I know I swore I'd never set foot in that Daytona dealership again, but I've had a change of heart. I want them to know that they need to treat every one as a buyer - I certainly was. I hope the SOB who shrugged me off is still there.
Going back down there may not accomplish anything - but it will give me the satisfaction of getting in his face, so to speak. My wife said, "Don't get your hopes up, he may have already been fired." If he is not there, I'm still gonna have my say.

I wish you the best with this, I just hope you don't get your hopes up. This guy is a D*ck, and once you're a d*ck your always a d*ck. He would probably push his grandmother down just to get next to a customer with some "bling" hoping it will rub off.
Either way, have a safe and fun ride to Daytona! Can't make it this year, but I'm shooting for next!
