Hi,
I bought a pair of the abs plastic saddlebags off ebay. I got a great price and the bags are just about new. Only thing wrong color. How much should it be to have them painted the 07 harley stock colbolt blue. I got one price from a guy here on the forums and he is charging close to the price the dealer would charge meto buy the bagsnew. Also I live in the Queens, New York area if any knows of anybody around here to paint them thanks.

Cost of PAINT is a KILLER even without using HD Paint - Painted my TourPak and the cost of materal alone was over $250.00 (3 STAGE PAINT) - Then there going to have to strip the bag down remove all the locks & latches and etc... (which they will have to replace the fasteners)
$800.00 - $1200.00 would not be unheard of

Here is the PPG code for the '07 color: Deep Cobalt pearl B/C 908850 posted by BVBOB on another forum.
If you have a HD SM, you may save yourself some money by stripping the bags yourself.
Check with your HD store, bike shops, etc. and get some recommendations.
Good luck with your project--post some pics when you can.

Paint and prep work can be really expensive. I just went through the dilemma of repainting or replacing one of my vivid black bags on the Electra Glide. I endedup just replacing the lower portion. It was about $185 from Zanotti. I ended up getting the part# off an adon ebay. Check part #'s with Zanotti's and you might be surprised how reasonable it could be to just replace the lids and lowers. You could still use the same hardware from your old bags. You don't have to order an entire set of bags at once. Eachpiecehas its own part #. You just need to find the right part# for your color. Then you could just resell those bags that were the wrong colorback on ebay.Something to consider if you can't find a good price to paint the ones you just bought.
