ORIGINAL: TakeNoCrap

These MAD maps, Have you downloaded them and looked at what they had to offer ? What format are they ? Can you open them with City Nav ? Thanks.
I have not got the softcopy version yet. The hardcopy Maps are greatness. They have a ton of great routes ..... roads that you'd want to ride, but would otherwise never know abuot them. The thing about the add-in is that you can just take off & Zumo will make sure you don't miss some of the BEST roads.

I suppose they make these compatible with a Garmin 2610??? That's as new as I own. Although it has certain POI's in it, none can be added...bummer. Someday I will upgrade to the Zumo or other version newer than what I have, but for now....any help for the 2610 with these downloads?

Does anyone know how they are loaded onto the Zumo 550? Are they loaded on top of hte city navigation map already in the system; or do they co-exist on the same device. I guess they could be loaded into your ROUTES section.

Second: They have cool infomration, but how do you display all the other stuff on the zumo? Garmin's site doesn't have any explanation about loading or impact ot current configuration. I do'nt want to replace the CityNav maps on my device

Can anyone give us a run down on the process for loading and using the MadMap products?

Ride safe

WIth no feedback I must assume that the Mad Maps load would wipe out all the preloaded maps on my Zumo creating the need to reload everytime I want to use CityNav maps.

NOT WORTH THAT HASSLE!
Thanks,
Zlaneb

I tell you guys, i don't like the 07 map upgrade!! it uses phonic sounds for names and it isn't good!!! I was in Connecticut and the GPS said "Ber LINE road", i looked at the street sign and it said Berlin road. I was cruising down the interstate and the unit said " Ar Port road next exit"; it turned out it was "Airport RD"...

What nonsense! NOt worth the $69 i paid!

They are loaded in your extras. I just down loaded maps for my area OH, WV and KY, have not used them yet, but seem to be set up well POI's and information.

I have downloaded one set of maps, but I am not real pleased with the implementation of the maps, or maybe it is my lack of knowledge in using the ZUMO. The map appears under the Extras, like my POI and tourguides, but when I select a map and attempt to route to it, I am very limited. I am being forced to route to the beginning point, which is not always the most logical point in entering the route. You cannot go into the route to place a new waypoint, and the routes cannot be displayed and edited in MapSource.

With all of the extra information regarding the routesbeing ableto be displayed on the ZUMO, makes this a neat idea. I'm just not sure it is worth the $$ if the routes cannot be accessed and used effectively. I think it would be better to buy the hard copy and then just create the routes in MapSource and send them to the ZUMO.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
