Default Engine Guard Dilemma?

I wanna keep my SG "sleek" looking. I am not a big fan of the footpegs bolt on the engine guard look. I was looking into the Kury Ergo guard with the fold out pegs but they are telling me I won't be able to reach em. Guess you gotta be 6' plus to reach em, wouldn't think they sell than many. Anyway my other 2 options are to get the Kury Cruise Mark 4 arms and take the engine guard off, or bolt some ugly pegs to the engine guard for long trips then take em off.

I have heard people against taking the engine guard off, but if it falls no matter how bad won't the INS take care of it?

What are your thoughts?

another option is the jac-knife pegs from www.imtnebraska.com I have them on my bike as I wanted a place to rest by legs without the look of a crash bar.

I know you told me that but the dudes at Kury say they don't come back far enough. Not sure.

I thought about those. I heard some not so good posts about em though.

How easy is it to get out while riding.

I ride in the canyons, not knee dragging but I also heard they scrape.

I am extremely happy with my Lindby bars. I am 5'9" and these are a bit more comfortable for me than the stock bars, and they look bad-a*s! I don't like the look of the ad-on foot pegs, so I opted to go without pegs altogether. Now they have them with built-ins. Wish I knew they were coming out with these cause Iwould have waited for them. Great quality, great fit and very comfortable.

My Dad has the regular one's and I don't like my feet in that position. As far as the new ones with pegs I dont see em being any different than the Kury ones as far a position. I MAY not be able to reach em is what I mean.

I am not short, average. 5' 11' 32 inseam.

I took my engine guard off after my accident because I bent the lower mounting tab. It looks really good without and gives it a whole new look. I got the chrome fairing mounting kit from Klock Works to keep it all together and it looks really nice. Yes, insurance will cover it. You just have to be aware that if it falls over THEY AREN'T THERE[]
