I know this may seem old school but does anybody use a paper map anymore, that's all I have ever used and I manage to find my way home every time.

I did buy mine on ebay new for $550. Still a lot of money for what you get but not quite as bad as $1000. I like it for what it does and not adding to the bars also. You do have to always have the cd in so it limits you to music on radio or use an I Pod. Don't pay retail, look on eBay.Simple to install but you have to order the mounting bracket from the dealer and get the owners manual for it too.

Its always with you and you never have mount or unmount any handle bar gps everytime you stop. Down side is the disc stays in but the audio is loud and clear through your system.

Hmmm... maps on paper.... interesting concept. You mean, they print them on paper and you carry them in your saddlebags until you need them? Then you find a safe place to park, turn off the bike, get off the bike, unlock the saddlebags, find the map, unfold it, find your current location if you can, then find where you want to go, memorize the route, refold the map, put it in the ......

Whew! Sounds like a lot of work and time! I'll stick to my trusty GPS.

(Just kidding, of course...)

Seriously though, I like the idea of a less cluttered handlebar Dogg, but I found the HD GPS lacking some important features and very expensive for what you get. So I ended up with a Garmin Zumo and live with the clutter.

Pastor John - did you mount the Zumo on the bar or on the fairing? Are you playing the sound through your stereo system? I've got an '08 Road Glide on order and I'd like to add navigation. Harley has Quest and a Conquest nav systems out that are full map systems that can mount to the fairing. They are pricey (what isn't with Harley), but I like the fairing mount. What do you think?

Sorry for bring this up on such an old thread but, isn't there an aftermarket GPS out there that can give you ftep by step instructions with a headphone/ earpiece outlet that you could plug into the stereo like an I-Pod?? Is this a function of the Zumo 550?
