wear to live for the best riding
I was reading one of the I hate winter threads and some of the responses were geared to make people like me living in the North East jealous. But, at the same time I think riding in 90 degrees 100% humidity sucks too.
I want to know where you live and how many days in the year is the weather between 60-85 with low to no humidity. Here in NJ the best months, since Global Warning (sp deliberate) are Sept to November.
Best weather wins and I move.

Angelina I am in same boat. I live in upstate NY, summers awesome, winters horrible. I am going to AZ in late Feb to visit and possibly look for a house. If I decide to relocate plans are to sell my house, move out to AZ in May, leave my bike in storage in NY. Come June fly back to NY, drive my bike to Laconia, since I already have motel resv for the week, then drive my bike to AZ!!! We'll see. I am with you. I am done with the northeast!!!

'm thinking the same thing, but I want somewhere where I don't die in the summer but can still ride in the winter. Up 'til now I've been looking in the northern Georgia, southern TN area. The Chattanooga area seems to get a little cold at times now, (I can live with that) but I'm not sure yet how hot and humid it gets in the summers.
Parts of California would be a no-brainer, but to buy there would be too much $$$. I've considered a bunch of places but it's pretty easy to rule many of them out at first glance.
I'm not sure how expensive N. California is. That looks like an option, maybe.
The real solution for me would be to live up here in the summer and re-locate south every winter but there's no way I can afford two homes and retire comfortably.

Try Northern Nevada, the Reno area. Houses are reasonable, and you can ride 10 months of the year. Average rainfall is about 12" a year. You can ride in the desert going east and in the Sierra Nevada mountains to the west. It don't get any better than a putt around Lake Tahoe in April. I have a 10 day trip planned for the middle of April. First to the Yuma Prison Rally in Yuma, AZ them to Puerto Penasco, Mexico(location of the Rocky Point Rally inNovember)for a few days, then back to the Laughlin River Run in Laughlin, NV. Gonna be fun and warm!
