Python slipons.

Python slipons.
I have been running python slipons with a dfo and big sucker on my flhx for the last 8k. The bike runs great (little decel pop here and there ) but , the pythons are a bit loud under load up hills . My wife gets tired of the sound after a while. So, does anyone have any experience with python and what other pipes they compare to as far as sound goes. I am thinking about finding a set of the older se touring pipes. A friend has them on his rkc and they sound good but a little metric under hard throttle. Thanks.

I have pythons on my bike and I think as far as loudness I would say they are middle of the road. For me just right, not too loud not too quiet. If you would like to get quieter I would try taking the baffles out and wrapping them with fiberglass, before tring different pipes. Just a thought. Good luck!

I did consider that and it is still an option. Just got back from a 400 mile ride and might do that sometime this week. I have other things i want to finish on the bike but have been pushing them back so i can keep riding. Can't belive that can be the case in feb in the northeast but it was a great ride today 49 and sunny!

I was running pythons on my 00e-glide, liked the looks and the sound when cruzn a flat road. BUT when you throttle up a incline or mountain riding theywere LOUD. After 8 to12 hours of ridingI had enough.
So I switched to a set of 07 screamn eagle mufflers slashcut. I really like these mufflers, they give you good sound and performance without being to loud. I installed them before going on a trip to lake placid NY from MD,about a 1500mile ride and they performed well. No ending theday witha headacheor ringn ears.

I have them on my 05 EG with the Stage setup. I think they're just right. If the drone of the pipes gets too much when I'm on the throttle, I turn up the stereo!!! Seriously, though, I think they're middle-of-the-road/ just right for me.
I initially thought they were a little loud but now with my GF's Nightster w/ Rush 2.25 pipes blaring next to me[sm=biker.gif], they seem almost mellow....For the money, I think they were a great buy.

I think i can cure the slight decel pop because the pipes are leaking at the connection. We have taken them down to 75 pnds but the still leak pretty bad. Iguess its time for some rtv. I might try some rush pipes with 1.75 or 2 inch baffles because i also like the changable tips.
