Default True Dual guys I need help !

I installed a set of V&H true duals with ovals last night , so I went out this morning to reset the fuel pack and cycle the pipes so I could recheck everything for tightness . While I had the bike idleing I noticed the rear head pipe was starting to glow red . Whats the cause and whats the cure ?

Too lean, you are heating up the cylinder which is burning the exhuast gases. Very laymans terms.

A wrench should be able to give more detailed explanation.

LEAN IS MEAN ... and that one's gonna hurt, just add more fuel to it.

+1 on the too lean.

But you didn't say how long you were idling for. It doesn't take too long for an air cooled motor to overheat at idle.

I'm going to call V&H tomorrow and listen to what they have to say , if I don't get any satisfaction I'll call Jamie about a PC III . The bike was only running for a couple of minutes in my garage and it was about 60 degrees in their . The sad part this may have been happening for awhile since I've been runing the ovals on stock head pipes with the fuel pack and never thought to check the pipes for this kind of heat .
