NEED SUGGESTIONS ON NEW PAINT PROTECTION FILM PATTERNS
Hey Guys,
I'm going to spend the next couple of days on the CAD machine and digitizer making up some more patterns. Can you guys let me know if there are any other areas of concern on your bikes you'd like to have protected? (other than the patterns I already have)
For example, one of the patterns I'm going to make is the rear fender area behind the C&C Solo seat on the Road Glide that extends down to the grab rail with the factory mounting hole cutout. That exposed area gets scratched up just looking at it (at least on Vivid Black).
If you can come up with any suggestions that'll be great! I have the RG and there may be other areas on the UC or SG I don't have.
Thanks!

I think fender patterns in general would be good. My rear fender is getting scratched from the seat.
Also maybe sell a package of 1 to 2 inch squares for places that rub together, like the cables on crome or paint. The squares you could make out of scraps from the the other patterns.

I agreewith Twisted. I've put a few small scratched on my rear fender from taking the seat off and on. Make it so it passes the rear nut about 2".
Twisted has the other idea as well. I get a small rub on the front fender from the front fender light wire and front brake cable. The other possible place could be for the guys with lowers on their bikes. I don't have them, but maybe the front tire kicks up rocks into them at times??

As a side note, I use to ride a GoldWing (GL1800) and those are notorious for soft paint and scratching very easily. I used regular old static cling sign material to cover areas that my knees and helmet comm cord would rub on the false tank. If you read their site, you'll find several posts every month from riders wanting something to cover the areas affected. If you haven't looked into making patterns for those bikes, it might be worth the effort.
Hope that helps!

The entire side cover! My OL is short and uses the Kuryaken adjustable pegs that attach to the floorboards, her ankle rests on the side of the side cover and over time it gets dulled and scratched.
Also the tail section of the tank on the new (08) tourers. easy to scratch it up with zippers, snaps etc when mounting and dismounting. Put a Zipper scratch on mine first time I climbed on to take it home....
