Default There is a birdy in my ??

I have an annoying chirp. We thought it might have been the crossover making the sound. I was going to put duals on anyway. After the install it seems to have gotten louder. Checked with a long screwdriver stuck to the ear and it sounds like it is somewhre between motor and tranny on the right side. It does come out the left side exhaust but is not near as noticable from the back as is from the side. Help I am churped out.

Check for the pipes comin' into contact with the pegs/boards - especially the front right.

I had a similar problem after installing Bassani headers. Got an annoying noise, vibration sound, found out the heat shield on front header was slightly touching brake pedal. Readjusted pipe and noise went away.

are you using the same rubber hangers? if you are, try a quick spray of silicone on them.

I second the rubber hangers on the mufflers. Believe it or not I put a penny in each rubber hanger and it stopped my chirping. The penny goest on top off the muffler bracket inside of the rubber hanger. I read this in a different forum, sounds crazy but it has been the cheapest fix I've ever had.

does it do it only when idling or when you first take off.
Year make model and miles would also be helpful.

OK, I'm going to have to try this. Not much of an emergency fund, but every .02 helps

Yup.....only the silicone won't be a permanent fix. It'll tell you what it was though.

Ok I am back. Had to work today. Fricken chickens anyhow. It is an 03 flhtcui It has been doig this for a fewmonths now. I had our local mech. look at it and hes not sure neither. I'll try the silicone to see if I can locate what might cause this from the outside. If not I guess i'll have to see if the steeler might have an idea.I'll try your .02 also. Thanks HB
