Need help picking a bike
I have a delema. Ive been wanting a 06 streetglide for awhile now but today I got an option to buy a 2003 police issue Electra Glide standard with 8k miles on it for 10k. The Electra is in good shape but its not a street glide. What should I do ? Get the Electra now or keep saving and wait to get the Streetglide for 18k in 3-4 months?

Don't Wait Get The Street Glide Now!!![sm=americanasmiley.gif] Be an American and step up now!
Pay now or pay later, is what I have heard. Typically the strong resale found with Harleys (especially the Touring models) the differance between new and used justifies new?
This is what I've found. Any Comments, Zen

Get the Street Glide. It's what you prefer and besides 3-4 months is right around the corner. There are always going to be better deals out there on used bikes. Of course, you should expect that. If the economics of a new bike is out of the question, then used is the way to go. Either way though, I'd stay away from Police bikes. I've seen bikes that have been converted to civilian use......regular hard bags (no hockey puck), normal control switches (without siren & light buttons) and the bikes look great. On the other hand, how much money are you willing to spend doing those kind of things not to mention whatever repair/maintenence that may be required? I must admit the thought of buying an old cop bike crossed my mind also, but not for what most places are willing to sell them for. Mikeisglidn is a member who owns a 97 POLICE ELECTRAGLIDE and it is BEAUTIFUL!! Just do a Search by Author and you will see his posts where you can find a picture. It just goes to show what you can do with a bike whether it started out as a police bike or not.
