Need help picking a bike

RE: Need help picking a bike
Would you rather settle on your 2nd choice or the 1st, go with what you want, let yourself make the desicion, I know what your going through, I did the same thing just a little while back, it's a big deal to buy a bike your not happy with because it'd hard to come out ahead on the next trade so soon.

I have a SG. Yea they look cool but if I had to do it again I would get a preowned EG '03 to "05.
The EPA has ruined the '06 plus the lowered shocks leave a little to be desired. Oh, and lets not forget the front wheel harmonics. Save the cash and the headaches. 10K is a good deal! The important thing is to ride. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have a delema. Ive been wanting a 06 streetglide for awhile now but today I got an option to buy a 2003 police issue Electra Glide standard with 8k miles on it for 10k. The Electra is in good shape but its not a street glide. What should I do ? Get the Electra now or keep saving and wait to get the Streetglide for 18k in 3-4 months?

Get the one you really want....if you buy the police bike no matter how much you put in and on it, if it isn't what you want you won't be happy with it. As far as police bikes go my agency only uses them for traffic duty and has the dealer perform all service. They usually have 10-12K on them when we trade them for new ones every other year. Several friends have bought police bikes that came from other agencies and none have ever had any problems with them. I'd say go with the SG....you will be riding and it won't be down while you are getting everything done to it.

Thanks for all the input. Like many of you have said its a very tought decision. I went in to the dealership today and the police bike is really nice, Its all black with the lower wind sceen. And from the side looks very similer to the SG. No matter what I get I wont feel like im settling. But its great to get all this input. keep it coming. Thanks.
