Default RE: Chrome stealth bulbs (pics)

Looks like a big improvement. Where can a guy get a good deal on these?
I posted a link to the ones I got.

The Silverstars are not silver, they have a "water in oil look" that I really didn't care for. That's why I went with the chrome!

The "water in oil look" is the best description I have heard for the Silverstar bulbs. Does anyone have any experience with the chrome tip bulbs? Is any of the amber part of bulb reflected and visible in the housing? (when off of course)

did someone say that the red ones look bad? I was thinking of going LED, but thought a chrome/red bulb would be a lot cheaper... I was also thinking of using the smoked lens... thanks!

They don't look that great under smoke lenses and the DO NOT LAST. I've used several different types. You'll be lucky to get 6 months out of the chrome coated bulbs. The longest set I had was in my F-150. They lasted maybe 8 months but were on nowhere near as often as the bulbs on your scoot will be. And the red do not look really red. More of a dark orange.

The problem with the RED ones is that they look Amber. I ordered a set of both RED and AMBER and they looked the same. I thought they sent me the wrong bulbs. They claim that they are different but I think they are full of s...

I gave up looking for chrome red bulbs for my smoked tails. I also tried RED bulbs but they have more of a wine color instead of the orange-ish red standard that most tail lamps have. Didn't like the look.

It must be in the eye of the beholder. I have clear lenses and have chrome tip amber up front and chrome coated red in the rear. To me they both look their respective colors, are stealthy when off and I have had the same set on the bike since 08/06. No one has ever told me the colors look bad. customdynamics.com

My question is, why have red turn signals in the rear? They are amber from the factory, right!

Because alot of people use run/tun/brake modules. Red is better in the rear when used as a brake as well as turn.

That's right, I think it's actually illegal (in Illinois) to have an amber colored rear running light.
