RE: Braided cable dealers
Ok.... Since it was brought up...
I did use a Mighty Vac to bleed the brakes... and bled and bled and bled...
I got them fairly tight, but never rock hard. But I had read on another forum (which I no longer subscribe to) that the newer front brakes on the FLH's tend to not retract all the way and you have to pull the calipers, push the cylinders back in, then re-bleed. Some sort of engineering problem. I did that, and it worked, but only for a little while. Now, the brakes work ok, but to get the fronts pretty hard, I have to pump them a couple of times (as the poster suggested) to get them hard (ok, no gay comments). They'll stop ok, but the lever is mushy until I do this (but they were that way before I switched to braided too, which was why I went to the braided, so I'm not convinced it's due to that, which adds more credibility to the poster). They'll get pretty hard, but only after some pumping. Fortunately, I am aware of this, so I watch for it, and also fortunately, they still stop ok if I don't (although with mushy feeling), but I'm wondering if this isn't a better forum to ask about the "sticking" problem.
Anyone else experience this?

Chicago Harley does charge a small handling fee with each order, but trust me, normally it is small compared to any shipping charges... and if you live in Ill, yes there will be sales tax - call 888-338-6868 and ask for Sue in internet sales - tell her the Ca firefighter sent ya - she will take good care of ya... I have bought a lot from them and save a TON of $$$
