Default Kickstand positon indicator... Light, etc..

We have all spend thousands on our tour bikes with almost all the bells and whistles you could emagine but I am looking for more! I am looking for a warning beeper/buzzer that warns me (when the engine is shut down) that the kick stand is still up!... Of course this will have to be tied in with the ignition switch so it can be over-ridden if necessary..

I've never dropped my Ultra but came close to dropping my XLH the other day.... (story) was adjusting the handle bars and moved the bike around a bit and the kickstand plopped up into position and I didn't notice... finished my adjustments and was attemptiong to lean the bike over on it's stand (I was strattled over the bike) and it kept on going!! Was able to recover it from a 45* angle! Easy enough on a Sportster but the Ultra is a bit heavy!!

Any leads on an accessory for a kickstand position indicator??

Oh I know.. If I didn't want to hear the answer, I shouldn't have asked the question.. When I read some post that I don't agree with or think thats just dumb questions at least I hold my tongue, ignor it and move on... but guess some on here just can't help but make useless remarks.

Thanks anyway... I'll keep you in mind when you have a question

I can design it and apply for a patent. Someone else needs to run it by MOCO so it wouldn't void your warranty. Should be easy enough!

I just pay attention to what's going on to avoid these problems.

Doug: I don't think there was any ill-will above; just some good-natured joshing among fellow bikers.

When I read your original post I smiled because I remember putting my'04 EGdown without putting the jiffystand down--I was so embarrassed I was able to pick-up the bike and put the kickstand down--guess it was anembarrassment-induced adrenalin rush.

I'll follow your thread to see if someone is aware of such a device. In the meantime, I will try to continue to incorporate putting the kickstand down as part of my parking procedure.

Okay...don't get pissed at me for saying this, but if you need a buzzer or reminder light to put your kickstand down, then maybe............... Well, you know the rest.

All my bikes have kickstand indicators, it's called my left eyeball. I just look before leaning, it hasn't failed me yet. Nuff said.
