Default '08 Ultra Add-ons

Just put a deposit on my '08 Ultra and was wondering what add-ons worked/didn't work?

well if your aged,, or body has been beat up,like me,,, the riders back rest is a god send,,
many peeps will agree.
A luggage rack for the tour pack is also a must.

some slip on's of your choice, for the harley sound,,,,
that should do it
the rest is cosmetics of your preferance

ohhh yea,, I plan on having Mean City cycles from here rework my seat,, the 08's a little
harsh on my azz bone

I actually think the stock slip ons for 08 sound not to bad. Not as loud as some people might want, but i'd rather listen to my stereo. And I plan to use the Ultra for long trips. I know how annoying it gets listening to loud pipes for hours on end (2 different 4000 mile trips on my Softail with loud pipes left my ears ringing at the end of the day).

Ditto on the luggage rack. I added the fairing mount oil temp guage, highway pegs, satellite radio (not the overpriced HD one), saddlebag lid guards, mid frame heat deflectors, tour pack lid organizer, SE race tuner, and some other odds and ends. Stock seat has been ok so far, but haven't done any long rides yet. Might upgrade the seat and add a backrest.

Just my 2 cents

For comfort a rider's backrest and highway pegs. Slip-on's, high-flow intake and SERT for a bit of a performance boost and help cool it down a bit....also added the premium oil cooler. Luggage rack, saddlebag lid rails, adjustable passenger floorboard mounts to make the wife a bit more comfortable. Then chrome, and finally a bit more chrome

Ditto the luggage rack. Got the lid organizer but haven't installed it yet.
Love the seat-no mods there.
You will wantfoot pegs.I need to decided which mounts I want.
Leaving the stock pipes. I loved the sound of the SE slip-ons on the old RKC. But now with stereo I, like others, want the quieter bike.
I've already started on the chromeeven bringing some over from the RKC.

Which passenger footboard covers do you all use onyour Utra's? I'm thinking of going the extra $$ to get the whole chrome footboard kit or the extra $$$$ for the Swept kit with Ironside inserts.

Ordered my Ultra 2 weeks ago. Orered myadditions yesterday. They include, riders backrest, color matched inner fairing, spun aluminum gauges, tour rack, lid rails, saddlebag chrome inserts, chrome inserts for all gauges, stereo trim and speaker trim, lighted windshield molding and lighted signal mirrors. Didn't do any engine or exhaust mods as of yet.

Lets see...I've had mine fora month and so far I have added:

Backrest
Windshield Bags
And a little chrome.

I have waiting or need to complete:

Heated grips (waiting on ABS brakeline extension for new Handlebars)
SE stage 1 Air Cleaner (waiting for delivery and a decission on the fuel pack)
Haven't decided on PCIII or SERT
Highway Pegs....Have the hardware, haven't decided on the pegs
Seat modification -- probably slightly lower.
I'm sure somewhere I will find more chrome

BTW if you have ABS you should watch what you buy for around the wheels or if it requires a cable extension. For now at least.

add ons that did not work for me:

Skull front axel nut covers

Skull gas cap lid

These did not fit a 08. I guess 2 out of 30 is not bad.
