Default Fuel injection?

I hear it's common on later model Harley's (fuel injection) to occasionally surge when the throttle is closed. Kind of like blipping the throttle for a split second, but it does it on it's own. I hear it has something to do with the fuel injection. It's kinda like a hiccup. I've talked to several folks and some have this problem and some don't. Mine has had it since it was new and it really doesn't bother me as long as I know it's normal, but if any of you know of a fix, I'd like to hear about it. It's just a minor annoyance, but if I can make my ride a little better I'm up for it! Thanks

Fat Cat on it's way next week!

I had the same problem on my 06 Classic, it didn't bother me either, and the dealer said that it was normal.....??????

I asked two different dealers and they both said it was a normal thing. Like I said, it's not a real problem and it only happens occasionally, but, being a perfectionist, I like things to work at their best. I also read some reviews on my bike before I made the purchase and a couple of the reviewers also commented on this, but also said it was a normal occurrence on this bike.

In the August 2006 issue of American Rider they tested an 06 Road Glide. The tester said of what you are describing - "but deceleration has a little quirk. Every time the throttle is closed the ECM likes to "blip" the throttle just a tad. This causes a small surge on deceleration. It can be compensated for but if youre not expecting it, it can cause an unwanted lurch and unsettle your stomach just when you are setting up for that descending-radius downhill turn".

My 06 has done it since new also.

I have never heard of it, but I have only had two injected bikes but neither one of them have done it. Not saying its not normal I just haven't heard of it.
