RE: Hitch and Wiring Help Please
Here are a couple items that will make your hitch wiring fairly simple.
[ol][*]Buy you a hitch of your choosing...I have a kury. $150.[*]Buy a Kury hitch adapter...$30. Really cleans up the rear end area. No hanging wires[*]Go to Advance Auto parts/ pep boys, etc get a trailer wireing adapter Hoppy P#48925. This will allow you to connect 5 wire to 4 wire.[*]get a adapter from http://alfa-mate.com/. this allow you to plug-play the pig tail under the seat. Basicaly you disconnect the stock connectors, plug in this adapter, plug the stock harness back into place. Now you can hook your trailer wire harness to this.[*]Take the time to soilder (sp) the wires together and use heat shrink. DONT use the stay-kon connectors. Plan on a couple hours to get everything like you need. You can hide the hoppy converter underneath the left side shield, on top of the fuse box.[/ol]PM me if you need more specific instrucions or pics.

RE: Hitch and Wiring Help Please
Thanks everyone for the recommendations. The place I bought my trailer from is a Hitchdoc dealer. I tried emailing the company direct a couple of times with no response. I like the looks of their hitch.
So if I understand correctly I need both a wiring harness and a relay??? Looking at page 1059 of J&Ps 2007 catalogue I see part 300-077 ($41.99) and ZZ38116 ($59.99) Are these the two parts I need? Does the relay plug into the harness and run a line directly to the battery???

RE: Hitch and Wiring Help Please
Keep in mind that Harleys work on a five wire harness and most small trailers have 4 wire trailer wire connector. You have to get the Hoppy adapter to go from Harley 5 wire to trailer 4 wire. You'll fiqure it out when your turn signals work but you have on brake lights. or when you have brake lights but no turn signals.....Bldr

RE: Hitch and Wiring Help Please
Try this. It has a hot wire that goes directly to the battery. They say it will work on any bike. You will need to put a quick disconnect or two in line since this is not a plug and play. $29.99 free shipping
