Today the dealer said that with SERT the rider can not turn the heat management off & on. They can turn it off & on with the Digital Tech II only. Can anybody with an 08 with SERT verify this? Or in other words is anybody with SERT able to turn it off & on?

Have the nSERT Pro Tuner and yes, the function to turn it on or off is still there!&nbsp\\; Your dealer is smokin' rope!

Wait a cotton pickin minute.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;I live in Arizona, its 117 here today, I have a blister on my thigh, I need this.&nbsp\\; So, how does it really work? Can it be turned on and off, especially on the fly? My bike was made before Dec 07, I bought the 08 in Oct. I actually read page 140, but it never really sunk in. Tell me more.

Thanks for the info nmfxstc. It did not seem right to me that SERT would render the on & off feature unusable.

draythomp 117 degrees! Holy &&&&. Check with your dealer. From what I understand is that 08 bikes manufactured prior to 12-3-07 need the dealer to re-flash the ECM with the Digital Tech II to enable this feature. There should be no charge for this. To turn it on you roll the throttle forward with the ignition on (does not have to be running) and hold for 3 seconds until you see the cruise indicator flash green for a second or 2. To turn off same thing but flashes red. When it is turned on and the following perimeters have been met\\; Engine Temp 287+ degrees, Twist grip opened less than 2%, speed less than 1 MPH & RPM less than 1200 - the rear cylinder will be turned off and will act as an air-pump to cool the motor.

Yep, it's not uncommon to have 117 in the sun at a stop light on black asphalt.&nbsp\\; I got a thermometer to prove it to people, they wouldn't believe it.&nbsp\\; I'm going to the dealer.
