Hi Guys,

Iwant to install 2007 or 2008 stock Road King mufflers (like the looks)on my stock 2003 Ultra. Do you think the newer mufflers will be anylouder?My buddieshave 2007 & 2008 Ultras. Both in stock form sounded louder than my 2003. Was that due to thier larger motors or are the newer stock mufflers that different? Also, any reason why the newer Road King mufflers would not work on my old Ultra?

It shouldn't be too hard to find out. I would imagine you could get all you want from a Dealer for next to nothing.

 

From what I have heard in the Past... You should get a deeper sound and a bit more performance...

Again I heard it here on the Forum...

 

Do the dealers typically re-sellthose stock mufflers they remove? I assumed most owners kept thier original equipment for later installation if necessary.

 

When I ordered my bike with the Screamin Eagle slip ons, I asked the dealer for my stock mufflers. He said sure. What are we going to do with them? We just throw them away.

 

Okay ... found a set of stock mufflers from a 2007 Road King Classic. Hope toinstall them on my 2003 Ultrathis weekend. I've been told they should flow better than the originals. Has anyone else put2007 mufflers on a stock 88" motor? If so how did it run and soundafterwards?

 

keep us posted, I was wondering the same. Someone told me it's louder on the 07's because of the 96 c.i., still I wonder.

 

American Iron did testing on the new mufflers and they do flow better. Just keep in mind the left and right mufflers are packed different. So make sure you get them on the proper side.

 

I put some 07 Mufflers on my 05. In my opinion they are a little louder and sound good. Can't tell any difference in engine performance.

 

I have an 06 Police RK the stock pipes were very bad the bike sounded like an air compressor.Installed stock 07 pipes and there is a big differance in the sound (deeper sound,throaty)and performance.Found some new takeoff parts from ebay $40.00.Check around a lot of the dealers should have some exhaust and dont give them too much Good Luck and welcome to the forum
