Default Big sucker help....

I installed a big sucker1 on my 06 RKC. Long story short, i tightend the botom bolt too much,i guess, and heard a "click". Closer inspection reveals I cracked where that bolt goes through,on the backing plate. I took it all off, cleaned it up, and did a litle JBweld repair, sinceit it is essentially under the air filter. Everything went perfect. Today I reinstalled it, and it went perfect. When I was done, I realized I didnt reinstall the factory gasket. (I did use the blue on that came withe big sucker). Took it all apart, and using BOTH gaskets, and YEP...snapped again.. Should have left well enough alone. Do I need BOTH gaskets? Im sure I can repair it again, and use just the blue gasket, and seat it tight, without an issue. Should I just buy another? Any idea how much JUST the backing plate costs? Anyone have one they'd like to sell? It is my fault ultimately, but i dont know what I could have done to avoid this.. Sorry so long winded, but I need to fix this, its currently 20 degrees out! .

Toss it, get a new backplate at the dealer...use 1 gasket next time & less muscle!

The SE plate is $25.95, if ya can't get the Big sucker plate....it'll work with the filter you have. pn#29478-05A

I read the big sucker backing plate can break. I never had any problems with the SE backing plates I had on my bikes
