Default Carhartt Coveralls for Winter Riding

I ride on Polar Bear runs, Any of you use this.Extremes® Coverall / Arctic Quilt Lined

I'm a big guy so the largest size of the standard motorcycle winter gear does not fit me.

Right now I use chaps and a leather jacket, but want something to ride in temps lower than 30s.

They have some nice gear that is heated and not as bulky as CH’s. this is a good site and the lowest cost I have found, http://www.tonker.com/tour_master.php

I bought some Walls Blizzard Pruf bid overalls. They are warm ,but bulky and you get hot and sweaty getting them on before you ride.

I have the Walls Bilzzard bibs.I like them better than coveralls as I got an electric vest for Christmas, so wear that on the upper with my normal gear. I really like the Walls as the zipper is huge and allows my big foot easy access, also they come in Tall. I did not think they were bulky.. Got mine in black.

I have a pair of lined Carhartt bib overalls that I love - not the artic - becase us NorCal folks do not really need it. Also just got some dickie lined jeans that are also comfy and warm

The Carhardts with the black lining are the warmest. The red lining is medium warm. I've worked in my black ones down to -30 degrees and stayed warm. For you southern guys that is a minus sign.

I am a police officer and do funeral escorts on a Road King as a side job. I bought the Carhartt Arctic (black) coveralls last year and had my police patches sewn on them. They definitely keep you warm for winter riding. I would strongly recommend them. My only complaint is that they have a wide leg, so wind tends to go up your leg from the bottom. Other than that, they are great! Somewhat water resistant too.....

For price and warmth check out Cabelas snowmobile suits. It will kept you warm to way below what your hands and feet will tolerate.

I have used the Carhartt Bib Coverall Pants with the red lining to ride. Good cold protection even down in the upper 20's. Sprayed some water repellent on the fabric and does a good job in light mist and rain. Not a lot of cold riding in Texas weatherwise, so never needed to invest in anything more than that.
