Depends on the riding you would like to do. Tybee Island is out East of town and a nice ride out Hwy 80 to the beach. Savannah River Refuge is a pretty cool ride into SC and back in on Hwy 17 into downtown.
I live the next county up and usually ride the county roads with little traffic. Just depends on your free time and what you want to see.

I live in Pembroke near Savannah,
1. AVOID the downtown streets early in the morning very slick!!! Bricks and stones in some squares
2. If you think you are in a bad part of town YOU ARE LEAVE NOW!!!
3. Do the haunted pub crawl!!!!
I would suggest hwy 17 south out of Savannah great ride.
Hwy 17 north from Savannah aint a bad ride.
Find Vidalla on the map west of savannah and ride to the giant onion farms out there. Just a relaxing ride.
Ride to exit 49 on I-95 and have dinner

Lots of great rides in the area. Of course, cruising the historic squares downtown is very scenic, very slow, and often crowded - especially on the weekends.
Highway 204 going west from town has some pretty scenery - and a great HD store.
Highway 17 south down to Brunswick is a great cruise through spanish moss, old plantations, and a great seafood restaurant in Darien.
The Golden Isles of Jekyll Island, Sea Island, and St Simons Island are a terrific destination and beautiful. Lots of parks, old forts, great places to eat.
Highway 17 north is great once you get out of Port Wentworth and the paper mills. From there, it's a great ride to Beaufort, SC and the Parris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Beaufort is especially pretty, with a terrific restored historic downtown and (again) - lots of great restaurants.
