Pulling a Trailer

RE: Pulling a Trailer
Pulls fine.....Stopping is the problem. Seriously I've heard of guys pulling a small pop-up camper with a bike and report no problems. I pulled a trailer for alot of miles with the goldwing I had with a total weight (trailer and contents)of around 300 lbs. Pulled and stopped fine but I was gentle on the brakes. Just have to remember its back there. I have not put a hitch on this Ultra yet , but plan on pulling the same load eventually.
Delfi Forums has a motorcycle trailer towing section and theres a wealth of information available there. Probably be a good site to check out.

RE: Pulling a Trailer
Had a friend of mine pull a trailer (riding 2 up) with his RK on a trip a while back. Said he was told that he couldn't have any more than a 100 lbtongue weight and the trailer and it's contents couldn't weigh more than 500 lbs. Left with a brand new tire and had to get a new one when he got back. Total miles traveled was close to 6000 miles. He said stopping at times was an adventure at times so I'd agree with Olbagr. A trailer hitch does look a bit odd on the back of a touring H-D, but I guess if you can do it, do it..!!
