03bagger, for about $ 35, you can contact http://www.pingelonline.com/rear_sprocket_spacer.htm
and install the wheel spacer between wheel and pulley. This will let you run the 2004-and-upHD DUNLOP 402 tires (up to 142 mm)that will give you a bigger contact patch, longer tire life and more cool factor. The spacer means no clearance or contact issues, no trimming of the belt guard, no wear marks on whitewalls, etc. I've run this for years and am really happy I bought it. It added a feel of stability and runs smoother on the highways.

I do not mind Dunlops, support the home town people. Made in WNY btw, kinda cool. However, on my old '98 RK they were elete II on there replacement and they were bad. Stepped up to Avon VenomX 140 rear 130 front and absolutly loved them. Wore verywell. After finding out to usea little more air on the Dunlops than recomened they seem pretty good so far. If not then the lops are gone and Avonare in or Metzlers depends....

Ditto the Venoms.......work well on the roads here....had metzlers before the venoms which also worked well until the rear tire delaminated and went all lumpy on me.....fortunately it didn't blow out.
Nothing really wrong with the dunlops...just experimenting.

Avon's here (18x3.5), even if I was running the stock wheels I'd put on the better tires. Dunlops are a very hard compound, which is great for longevity, but lousy for handling and ride. Avon and Metzler are probably some of the best compromises out there.
Didn't Harley increase the stock tire size to 150 rears starting with the 2003 bikes? (and then increased again with the 07's)
