Holy sheit on a dresser batman! When I read 117" I reflected back on an incidence where a freind of mine was racing a GPZ 1100 on his punched out sportster. 110mph in 3rd gear (or was it 2nd?)when hebanged in the next gearhe sheared the bolts off'n his rear sprocket. While I am no where near you guys mechanical expertise I was wondering as you punch up the motor do you also upgrade tensil strenth of nuts and bolts around the bike, in key locations to accomadate the exra tourque?

Yea Badinfluence I'm not the guy to ask about about fastners failing,(not avey goodwrench) but I've thought some drive belts. I guess time will tell, I figure the tire will be thehardest thing to keep under it.

Dave, sounds like you'll soon be riding a MonsterBagger! The only big-inch failures I'm familiar on on the rear sprocket involved a 120" motor shearing the decorative cover off through the bolts - made a real mess! I made a note to never run a bolt-on cover over the sprocket. Have a great riding season on your new mill!

"April 13, 2002...I had fun with my 106 ft-lbs until I learned an important lesson again: cheap chrome won't get you home. Cheap chrome will only sit you on the side of the road..."It" being a driveline ****** that stopped me in the first church parking lot that I had been in two years. The pulley had come loose from the rear wheel, messing up the pulley and stripping the threads in the rear wheel. Yes, I used red Loctite. Yes, I torqued the bolts to specs. What I did notice when I did these things last winter was that the pretty chromepulleycover ($20) dimpled under the required bolt torque. On a "normal" Harley, it would not have allowed the free-play to work the bolts loose and cause the failure. With low-end torque like the FrankenKing, the dimples became tears, which gave the bolts 1/8" of loose threads. Once the threads were loose, it was just a matter of time before "it" happened...Your badassed motors deserve more than a cheap chromepulleycover. If a customer ever asks for a pulley beautification project, tell them chain, BDL pulley, or nothing at all. Show anybody wanting a chromepulleycover this letter so that they may learn from my mistake. Mine will soon again be the bulletproof cycle that I have grown to know and love..."

Should be great and a lot of fun when done. I originaly tryed the stock intake on my 06 with stock injectors on my 113" I just felt I could get more hp so I orderd the 50mm from h/d with the higher flow injectors 4.89. The dyno estimater on the sert had it at 131 tq and 109 hp. the tq peaked at 4000 and hp at 5000. Thought I could get more hp and keep my tq. with the new intake if not then I will install the higher flow injectors in the stock intake. Just dont think the stock injectors could feed enough fuel to get the hp up. but I think the 25 degrees I have flow even less than earlyer years. But good luck in your build.

Hang in there Dave, the wait will be worth it. Long winter is right, I have a new engine ready to ride and it will still be many weeks before I can get out, so I can sympathise completely.

You will be impressed when you get your bottom end back from Darkhorse, it will be smooth as butter.
