No! Took a ride down to Myrtle Beach for bike week from PA. The rest of 7k was goofing off or riding back and forth to the camp. My job keeps me away from home 225 days a year. WAY too much travel already!!

we've discussed,,, being a biker,newbie,rub,
what to, and not to wear...wave or not,,,1% 2% or 99%
sub zero riding,,, Az. 105 degree rides.........

so What really is a tourer???,,,, and it dont consist of payin 25G at Bob's HD either.

I do lots of weekend, 800 mile + get-a-ways..........?
I prefer the long haul to the short +/-100 mile trips around town. In fact, we finished an Iron Butt ride a couple months back -- and I was ready to go another! And earlier in the year, we did a roundtrip to CO for about 10 days -- and could have done another, 'cept for this work thing..... Yeah, if the bags aren't packed with at least a couple changes of clothes, it ain't "touring."

Yes I am.
Fortunatly I am able to ride for a solid 4 months every summer. I leave my home in western Canada (Calgary) and zig-zag across the U.S. ending up at my place in Elmira. Have done every state and province numerous times. (Alaska and the Yukon are the most amazing BTW). This will be my first year for touring on a HD and I am looking forward to it.
**electrarick - look forward to seeing you on the road this summer, the Finger Lakes is a beautifularea to ride in. Look for a bald old man riding the twin to your bike.

I had a 99 LT, great bike brembo brakes, ABS, electric cruise, kind of like my 08 HD. It was much faster than my Harley though, kindof hard to get use to.

The HD are great, dealers every where and parts galore! enjoy.

It was an '02. Served me well - no breakdowns. It's a totally different ride (doesn't wake up until 5000++ rpm). But --- I missed the Harley "soul" and it was a PITA knowing that at any given time I was probably 600 miles from a dealer. Even finding a place that had a tire in stock was difficult, and lastly ----when I had to work on it there was an hours worth of tupperware removal.
**electrarick - will ping you next summer and meet up. I'm up to my *** in snow right now[:'(]!

Nope! I bought an Ultra to run around town on and to barhop on! I get about 10k in about 7 months! If that gets me the label " real tourer", so be it! If not, I'llgo ahead and ride anyway!! (At least when the snow melts!)

I'm not a tourer but I sure love to ride. I try to ride every day if the weather permits, unfortunately in Montana, that is near often enough. Hope to do some 3 to 4k trips this summer. My respect to everyone who rides for the love of the ride.
