RE: Are you truly a Tourer..???
I suppose I might be considered a tourer I started riding when I was 20 years old and you had to kick Harley's and retard the spark and change points every other month... But thats another story I will be 65 this summer and still am riding ..I have never really sat down and figured the miles but would prolly be safe in guessing around 4 or 5 million....Does that make me a tourer????? Please let me know I'm not sure????

Yes I am.
Fortunatly I am able to ride for a solid 4 months every summer. I leave my home in western Canada (Calgary) and zig-zag across the U.S. ending up at my place in Elmira. Have done every state and province numerous times. (Alaska and the Yukon are the most amazing BTW). This will be my first year for touring on a HD and I am looking forward to it.
**electrarick - look forward to seeing you on the road this summer, the Finger Lakes is a beautifularea to ride in. Look for a bald old man riding the twin to your bike.

RE: Are you truly a Tourer..???
I do about 15K miles a year here in northern Ma. Most weekends I'll do at least one 350 to 450 mile ride, sometimes 2, sometimes and overnight. My wife doesn't ride anymore, so that brongs me back home in the evening most weekends. I take a lot of motocycle vacations and just take off for 5 or 7 days and point the fender away from traffic and out into the country.
Many riding friends kind of don't ride with me too much, because I like to eat breakfast an be on the road before 8AM and usually don't roll back into town till dark.
I just love to ride and I don't know if I'm a "tourer" or not, but I replace my share of tires and do my share of oil changes, all my motorcycles have saddlebags and tourer packs and windshields. I have a full set of Gerbings and controllers on both bikes, jacket/pants/gloves and socks. 2 pair of grloves cause one set stopped working and I couldn't stand not riding the last 2 weeks in November till they got fixed.
Started riding in 73, when I bought my first bike, a 500cc Kawa triple, yesterdays version of a crotch rocket. I always looked up to the old dudes on big Harley iron. I couldn't figure out how they rode those big bikes, but I wanted one.
I just love to ride.
