It's not really about where you go, how often you go or how far you go - it's about the love of the hobby. If you love riding a bike - you are a rider I don't care what you do!

I thought I was a tourer. Wife and I went out west for our summer vacation. In all we put almost 5000 miles on the RKC. We told ourselvesthat we were tourers. Then we ran into this older gent at a gas station in Leadville, Co. As we talked he informed us that he had left home (Mass.)over 2 months before to visit his daughter in the Phoenix area. He already had over 8000 miles on his second bike this trip( thefirst one had broken down somewhere along the way) which I think he said was a Yamaha. I asked how much longer he was going to be on the road and he kind of thought about it and said he wasn't exactly sure but he might be out for another month or two and planned on getting in at least another 8000 miles. He hadhis camping gear with him and said he would camp for 3nights and then get a room for a night. Pretty cool old guy. Iknow he is a tourer. Maybe someday I will be a "tourer".
