Good post, I currently have the Heritage Classic Bars on my bike and although they are comfortable, I don't seem to have as much control at slow speed manuvers as with the stock bars. After spending many hours reading posts & talking to other riders on this forum, I'm planning on having the 518s installed on my 97 Road King in the Spring. Agree with calling or emailing the service department at Wild One's for advice, it won't cost you a dime. One riderordered two different handlebars, kept one and sent the other one back.

I'm 6'-3" and bought the 518's (off of eBay)after reading all of their praise.After they came... I held themup on the bike and decided they're not for me.I'm not quite sure what it is, but the shape just doesn'twork for me. I'm thinking I now want the 504's.
The 518's will likely end up back on eBay.

I know all these opinions just make you more confused as to which handlebar would be best for you. Attending a H D dealership open house to look at different bar configurations and test them for fit might be the way to go. Other than the Heritage Classic bar another popular one that doesn't require a cable change is the Road King high handlebar; a coworker has them on his Road King and really likes them ( he's about 5'-7" tall). Good luck onwhatever you decide on.

I have the 508s on my bike. I had the Heritage bars before these and didn't like the look or the fit. I had to reach too far causing shoulder and upper back pain even on short rides. Took a 1000 mile trip with the 508s and had no problems. the 518s have less pull back and are wider with a different angle. I went with the 508s for maximum pull back. I'm 6' tall and the bars are comfy for me.
