From what I have been reading the problem seems worse with the 6 gal tank.

The high pressure pumps just makes it worse.

My 09 Ultra has the same problem when filling up. I found 1 pump at the station where I get gas that had a "problem" with the nozzle-It would allow me to trickle fuel into the tank. I could fill it up to the very top of the neck. Then last week when I went to get gas, I found that they had "fixed" it and now I'm back to filling up till the nozzle clicks off and I pretty much have to stop.

I guess I'll go by the Harley Dealership this weekend and pick one up.

To fill all the way up you just put the nozzle in and pump until it stops. Then lift the nozzle up near the top and slowly squeeze it so that gas goes in slowly. I've only had maybe once when I messed up and sprayed gas on my tank.. and that was because I got side tracked and looked away. I wouldn't give that company my money for that product. Just take your time and spend that 20 bucks on some wax or something worth while.

Honest - Try that with a center-fill '08.

The last thing I ever wanted to do is spend $20 on a $1 piece of molded rubber.

Thinking backward, they (McCuff, HD, etc.) would have never put out such a seemingly ridiculous piece if there wasn't a pretty substantial need for it...

But if it makes you feel better, I'm glad you don't have that issue.

I used the McCuff for about a year, it was given to me by a buddy who works at a Harley dealer here in CA. It worked great, but every once in a while it would fail. I'd say once out of every 20 fill-ups, the McCuff wouldn't shut the pump off and gas would overflow out of the tank.

Needless to say, the last time it did that I got pissed, tossed it in the trash, and have been filling my tank the old-fashion way ever since.

Default McCuff

Is it what it is cracked up to be. It depends what station you use or how their material is maintained. SA or Holiday doesn't replace their nozzels as frequently as some of your name brand stations. Thier nozzels don't always have the cut off block in the end of the filler nozzel. Thus giving your tank a bath if your just waiting on the the gun to click off. Just ran into this. I use the cuff, but go slow. NO different if you do it with the cuff. Go slow... Why be in a hurry. That's usually when murphy's law sneaks in the back door and haunts you. Do I reccomment the cuff, yes. IT does work. Still need to be alert, keep a paper towel handy. Have a great day.
