Default Corbin close seat

Since it's about 10 degrees outside I have some time and continue looking for other than OEM saddle. It appears corbin has lowered it's price. Looking at the solo corbin closeseat for 07' RKC. Anyone have info. on this.

I originally purchased a Corbin Classic Solo for my '96 RK back in 1997, but about a year of riding revealed that it had pulled me back about 2", which was too much for my average frame. I'm 5' 10" with a 30" inseam and 34" sleeves. The Close Solo had about the same riding position as the stock seat, except lower, so I purchased one of these in 1999. It was very uncomfortable, unlike its predecessor, and I sent it back to Corbin. After about a month I received it back much improved, not quite up to the comfort level as the Classic Solo, but close enough. I used that seat for the next eight years and it was reasonably comfortable on long hauls with a Corbin backrest.

When I bought this '07 SG I decided to go with Mustang based on price ($200 cheaper with backrest) and positive user feedback. This seat is more comfortable than the Corbin Close Solo and positions me about the same as stock, except lower, so I consider the purchase a success. If you are set on Corbin, you probably will like the seat. They are hard, but are very supportive and comfortable for most people and break-in after a moderate period of time. The Mustang is also firm but not quite as much.

I don't know the exact seating position the Corbin will give you on a newer bike compared to stock, but it might be good to call Corbin for this info before ordering. Decide if your stock seat positions you too far, too close, or too high before calling them.

I'm using the corbin close solo on my 07SG, but I'm only 5'4" with a 29" inseam. I love the seat. It does move you up about 2 inches.I have just over 11,000 miles on my corbin and it's comfy for me.When my boyfriend has ridden my bike it has been only for a short ride, but the closer seat would probably be uncomfortable on a longer ride. He's 6 feet tall....32" inseam.
