Hi everyone.
Well its about 20 degree here in Michigan so I had some time to think about this instead ofbeing on the roadand was wondering what everyone thought. Its pretty lame but I got lots of time and am thinking of changing up my bike.
I went to the dealer last year to buya 07 street glide in thevivid blackcolor and when I got there I noticed a black pearl one that was in the sun and it just glowed and popped and it looked great to me, Regretfully I change my order to that one but now that I own it it looks dull and bland to me . If the sun doesent hit it just right it looks like a blah boring grey. Should have stuck with my first choice in my opinion.
I have been thinking about getting another paint set for it in a different color and selling this set but am undecided and wondering if it is a mistake. Maybe it just needs some nice wheels or something to spruce it up and put a smile on it but to me it still looks like a boring grey.
To me vivid black,cobalt blue, and black cherry pearl look the best when done up.
What does everyone think of black pearl and does anyone have any pics of some cool looking bikes in that color.

If I had to choose between the two...VIVID BLACK all the way!

 

I agree that in most lighting situations it looks dull. I prefer the vivid black myself and it costs less to boot.

 

My '05 Ultra is Black Cherry and Black Pearl. I think the two colors really pop out in the sunlight. The vivid black is fine, but there are so many of them out there.

 

I love my black pearl SG. It was the ONLY color I would have purchased. One thing I do like about it is you need to take a few extra moments when you look at it to appreciate the color. If you just give it a glance it does look bland but if you take that extra few moments you can really see what an awesome color it is. I prefer subtailties rather than the obvious. Lastly while vivid black is great there are a whole lot of them out there. I prefer to have a less chosen color but I like black so this was a great option.

Good Luck, buyers remorse sucks. FWIW I was at a dealer yesterday and think the red and blue gloss colors on the 08's is awesome too.

 

Think contrast, pinstriping, chrome, etc, Your bike is a blank canvas no matter what color it is. It is up to you to make a masterpiece out of it.

 

Does it ride any differently in the Black Pearl than the Vivid Black?

NoI dont suppose it rides any different but that was not my question.
Why would you think it would ride different when its just a different color?
