I will have to admit that on a SG Black Pearl looks killer. I had a RK that was black pearl and my current SG is Vivid Black. If I had to do it over the SG would be Black Pearl also. Black Pearl has sort of a Gun Metal look to me.

I bought a 2008 Road King in Pearl Black. My first choice would have been the Candy Red Sunglo but it wasn't available in the Road King standard.

I agree that the black pearl, like most colors, looks kinda dull sitting in the garage....but get it outside in the sunlight and I love the look

 

Nothing shines and highlights chrome like vivid black.

 

I think the black pearl is an excellant colour,I have had to many black motorcycles,so when I bought my roadglide it was a toss up between the b-pearl and the orange,went with the b-pearl I figured the orange might wear on me after a year or two,it does look especially good like someone else mentioned with the roadglide stripes,it also looks pretty good at night when parked under a street light.

 

I had narrowed it down to 3 colors the day I bought my RK almost 2 years ago, Vivid Black, Deep Cobalt Blue and Black Pearl. As I was going into the dealer to begin my wonderful purchasing experience I saw a guy get on his Deep Cobalt Blue RK in the parking area and talked to him for a bit and sawthat colorin the sun and made up my mind right there. I thought it looked good in the showroom but really popped out at you in the sun.

Well it seems to be 50-50 on the color. A couple people mentioned that thebike looked dusty or dirty and that is exactly what I was thinking although there were a couple of nice ones posted.I just cant stand it when my vehichles look dirty.

 

When I bought my Fat Boy in 05, I had a choice between a Vivid Black, Pearl White or Pearl Black. I chose the Pearl Black simply because in the sunlight it jumps out at you. Granted, when it's dusty, it looks dull, but that just gives me more of a reason to keep it clean!

PS, for what it's worth, since I bought my FB my wife has called it The Black Pearl, or lately, just Pearl.

 

I carry a small California duster designed for car interiors in my saddlebag ,takes me about 30 seconds to dust it when I stop ,then I can stand stand back and admire the deep sparkle luminating from the black pearl paint while enjoying a cocktail in the summer sun.

 

THe Vivid Black is Cheaper to Buy...Then when You get it,Go Hellbound with the Custom paint
