I went with black pearl on my king and I don't regret it. Looks great out in the sun.

 

Love my black pearl SG. Fell in love with it at first sight and after a year or so the honeymoon still isn't over. I would buy it over again in a heartbeat. I do really like the new red color but for thelong haul I would still go with black pearl all the way. To each there own though it is all about personal choice when it comes to YOUR ride Maybe I'llADD a red UC to the fleet in a few years... when I am old enough.

 

I had an 05 Pearl black fat boy.....Like you, without mounds of sun pretty ho hum color..... But its easy to fix with a new paint job!

 

I like the black pearl I especially like it with the stock stripe on the road glide

 

I like the looks of Vivid Black best, but Black Pearl will scuff less.

 

My 08 SG was originally ordered in balck pearl. I didn't want vivid balck because "everybody has a gloss black harley". For about a month I got the "it'll be here next week" line. It was mid September and I was getting really anxious. They offered me one in vivid black. I held out I really wanted the pearl. Bike didn't come the next week and I was jonesin' bad! I gave in, made a deal on the vivid and honestly never looked back. Especially after seeing a pearl bike at night. I thought it looked like a dusty black bike. Pearl may pop in the sunlight but a clean (emphasis on clean) vivid bike looks great day and night. But I wouldn't buy a vivid pain set if I were you. Money would definitely be better spent on some custom graphics. at least IMO.

 

my first choice was black cherry pearl when i ordered my new 07 r-k..but due to $$ issues i ended up with a left over 06 r-k in black pearl....some days it just pops in the rite light (like no other color) but can look grey on cloudy days...so pick sunny days!..and enjoy

 

I really like the black pearl in the sun,but agree it is dullish in certain lighting.
I went with vivid black!

 

I think they both look good andif Horse Power is not an issue, then go with the Black Pearl. But I need all the ponies I can get, so I went with the darker Black, besides it really is more vivid.
