Argh. I've always had a bit of a sweet tooth for The Black Pearl. But you might beware, Laddy, she's a bit cursed I hear.

Michigan and Ohio (where I live)have miserable, cold, cloudy, winters. Wait until the sun comes back out in the spring. I have an 07 black pearl Road Glide and I knew the first time that I saw that color that I wanted it. Take a look at a RG when you get a chance. The silver stripe with red pinstriping makes a big difference against the black pearl. You could look at adding some accent colors.

I'm not much on it,my bike was that color and that was the first thing i did was take it apart and paint it.

 

My first impression of the black pearl, was that is was actually a vivid bike, covered in dust. I actually tried to wipe off the "dust". Not my choice. Harley makes two colors. Black and Chrome......fwiw

 

You would think the black cherry is dull in the shade as well, both black cherry and black pearl need to be outside in the sun! Vivid black is a nice color, but I think that the black pearl is an awesome color, especially outside in the bright sun.




I think you will be fine when spring arrives, the winter blues are getting to everyone! Keep yourself busy and it will be spring before you know it, and you will be thinking that you made the right decision on the bike color

 

Black Pearl is awesome in the sun. Dad has a SG in that color and it rocks.

That said, if you are not happy with it and you like Cobalt blue I might have an option for you. My painter just got a Cobalt Blue SG in for a full repaint. If you made a decision ASAP you might be able to trade him your tins for the blue for not a lot of cash - it wouldn't make any diff to him if he paints a blue bike silver or a black bike silver. Let me know if you are interested and I'll contact him.

 

I think I'd choose Black Pearl.

 

Black Pearl was going to be my second choice. It may be a little drab in lowlight, non sunny conditions, but it's a nice color to me. I chose the Crimson Red Sunglo for my SG and love it, in the sun or at night. It's gorgeous in either conditions.

 

Stay with the Black Pearl.

Ilike it but its basically dark gray metallic.
