I'm looking at my receipt for purchasing my SERT right now.

SERT Part number 32107-01L and it came with a CD. There were no extra charges for a CD.

The cable (sold separately and not really needed unless you plan to hook up to your PC and do some changes) is part number 32108-06.

Again, I'm looking at the work order as I type this. Could they (HD) have changed this since November?
as per P & A bulletin 928....dated 1-9-08
the cd will not be inlcuded with the SERT box....thus the reduction in pricing!

I bet it has less to do with a price reduction and more to do with keeping the average Joe from monkeying around with the ECM after the dealer does the dyno tune.

Could be but I think it had to do more with packaging all the parts together...supplier to packaging....the cd is still available for 19.95 but it is separate and not packaged with the sert interface.

And also for the dealer or indy shop.....doing a bunch of sert/dyno work and doesn't need multiple copies of the CD.....thus reducing the price for the sert. It only creates a little discomfort for the single/buyer user.

Thanks man! I appreciate the heads up.

Never a dull moment... just when I think I've got my arms around this stuff...

As far as I knew the local dealer here in WNY said the disc is of Factory Back ordered. I purchased mine from Kagan(art). He had them in stock. I think trying to package a product from 2 suppliers is going to be hard to HD to do.

I wonder if they can be copied?

I know, not legally.

you can download the entire SERT CD to your laptop and let your buddy borrow the CD for himself. You just have to make sure the CD that you use contains the latest Updates for your bike.

Back to my question, is it OK to do the SERT without the dyno. I'm not a performance hound just want the bike to run cool and perform a little more to its capabilities.

Thanks again.

Just another quick question. I asked about getting a SERT for the 08 coming and I was told that it would screw my warranty.
True or BS?
