I thought it was just me! I was almost too embarassed to mention something as minor as the wind / jacket, shirt issue and was just going to live with it.
thanks, it's 5 degrees out here in Ohio, I'm going to a Gun show and stop at the dealer and buy one on the way home. Garage is heated after all, might as well light a cigar, pop a beer and go bolt something on!
It seems like about every other week I find out something on this board that I had been wondering about and hadn't ask.

The fork baffle is one of the best mods I have done.

+3....Had the same issue. The baffle reduced it by about 80%. Barely noticeable now.
The baffle is pretty inexpensive and goes on in about 10 minutes. You have a choice of chrome or black. Just make sure to run a thread tap in the 2 mounting holes to remove the paint from them.
I recall it's a 1/4 " X 20 tap. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.

I just added the baffle haven't had a chnce to ride since I installed it, but take Comfortably Numbs advice about the thread tap. I got away without it but every turn of the ratchet was scary. [sm=goodidea.gif]

When I installed the baffle I was told that air would not flow over the heads as well and cool the rear cylinder exhaust(hence my glowing pipes). I then installed lower fairing and had my first overheat in Aug 07 on my SG. At 5'8" I noticed my legs scoop up alot of air though. I removed the baffle until it was cooler again but noticed the wind on my chest...

to go along with what Sam said, if you have a jacket with vents open up your back vent. Your jacket will not blow up.

Duct tape the bottom of your coat to your waiste, around your cuffs and at the bottom of your pant legs. Works for me.

I can't say that I've noticed a difference with my fork baffle. To me the fairing wings and the chrome lowers did more for controlling the wind then the baffle did.
