RE: SECRET . . . Anyone know what Sifu means?
In mainland China, sifu is a common respectful form to address all professions where knowledge or skill is exchanged, such as school teachers, drivers, cooks, house decorators, and many elders of old trades and arts, with a large amount of experience, such as paintings and calligraphy.
In modern slang, people use the word so as to, superficially, build up a better quanxi with others, in particular those with whom they are not familiar, not dissimilar from the western terms boss and "guv'nor".
The author of this thread is into martial arts and very well may be a "Sifu".
Thanks Google.

Yeah. It's an acronym we use in the mountain northwest everyday between November and March. It is used in relation to weather and is commonly uttered every morning when we first look out the window. It stands for "Sh*t, it's f**cked up".
Hope this helps.
