Default Soft Lowers for Road Glide?

I'm gonna go pick up some soft lowers at lunch tomorrow, as the temps here have gotten pretty cold. I would prefer leather and with a pocket or pouch. I don't have time to order by mail, and I can't currently afford hard lowers, so I'm not asking about those. I already know I would like some.

I'm gonna hit a local leather shop (AZ Biker Leather) first to see if they carry any Desert Dawgs or other leather brand lowers. If not, I'll hit HD on the way home and get the Bar and ShieldLogo soft lowers for $59.95 #58525-95A. Are these leather or vinyl? Do they have any pocket? I would like to hear from those of you that use them. Do they work? Do you like them? Any tips? [&:]

Signing off now. I'll check back first thing in the morning.

Thanks!

Thanks pop1. I don't think I'll mind the looks either.

I've got the HD soft lowers (58502-80C $37) which are vinyl no pockets. They work great. I tried plugging that part number you listed into the HD website and nothing came up. Not sure what the deal is.

i use the soft hd lowers when it's really cold or rainy. no pockets. don't mind the look but prefer it without but i don't like the look of the hard lowers either... anyway they keep the rain off your boots and keep your lower leg a little warmer so when i need them i throw them on.

Go with the vinyl they will fit the bracket. Get them warm before first install. They will get easier after that.

I've got a set of the nylon HD lowers with the bar/shield logo on them I'd let go for $50.

I picked them up last week thinking it'd be a few more weeks before my color matched lowers came in from Chicago HD, but just got word today that it's out for delivery.

Just my luck. =)

My loss is your (or anyone who wants them and PM's me first) gain.

I use soft lower and loved them. The soft lowers are warmer than the hard lowers.

I use the soft lowers from harley without the logo for 37 bucks + tax. They work well and are very compact so unlike the hard lowers you always have them available. In Houston it's not uncommon to have a very cold morning and a comfortable afternoon so they are always going on and off. Just be sure and keep the snaps lubed and they will lasta long time.

Thanks all.

Thank you for the offer Phurion. If I had gotten on the ball and looked for these a week ago, I'd be taking you up on your offer. However, I need to pick these up today. Did you use them and how did you like them. Those are nylon? I thouhgt they might be vinyl. Thanks anyway. Congrats on your CM lowers.
