My wife and I are adding you to our prayer list.
As others have said find the best Cancer Treatment Center you can!
We both work in Healthcare and have one of the best Centers here in Orlando.
It is beatable! Keep faith in your family. It's hard to keep faith in yourself at times, but if you think about what they will go through if you leave them, it will get you engergized to do "what a man's gotta do" (John Wayne).
If you don't have hope, the illness will win. We see it all the time.
Remember Tim McGraws song "Live like you were dying". Just do that and anything that makes you remember what is important to you. If you're like me, it isn't myself but my family.
No matter what don't shut them out. And don't let them get down.
For what it's worth.

Ain't it a bitch gettin old Sparky...
I just turned 59 and was diagnosed with stage 1 bladder cancer. They operated on me, yup up the dick, and found the cancer. My doc said he got it all and I don't have to do the kemo or radiation treatment but I will have to be reexamined every three months for a year. Again up the dick...Always with the dick...
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck on your treatment and future. Keep your head up and keep in mind that all of us will keep you in our thoughts and prayers...

Sparky,
I am in the healthcare industry and have direct experience with two close friends that have had PC and supplying their medications as well. One friend had the "Seeds" implanted and was up in riding with 6 to 8 weeks. He had it done at the Mofit Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. I would also recommed you check out the Datolli Cancer Center in Sarasota, Florida as Dr. Michael Datolli is an expert in the treatment of PC, that's all he does. So far this friend has had no adverse issues and has checked out perfect on his PSA after the seeds. He did have to take FlowMax for a while but everything is working fine now.
My second friend really had no choice but to remove his as he had VA insurance only and they ONLY do surgery. I believe he wishes now that he would have done the seeds. He has had issues with incontinence and with erectile dysfunction. The incontenent issues have pretty much subsided but the ED is still an issue. He gets Viagra from me all the time.
All I can stress is definitely get a second opinion, remember you only get ONE pass at this thing, so REALLY weigh your options as to therapy and treatment. This, Ican tell you, if it is still the contained within the prostate, then the rate of cure is usually 100%.
You will be just fine!!!!, It's just a momentary change of course, you will be right back on track soon!
Good Luck!

I have one piece of advice: M.D. Anderson in Houston Texas. It is the finest cancer treatment center in the world. My dad went there for his prostate cancer4 years ago, he is still with us. They are one of the best, if not the best. He had nothing but good to say about them. They treated him well, and not just his cancer. Check it out. My prayers are with you.

tough news, man... personally, I think the more you know about this the better... you might want to check this info if you haven't already seen it...
don't really know what else to say, except you do have people pulling for you.
