How many have installed or plan to install gear-driven cams?
It seems I see more and more post about failed tensioners, with most saying they eliminated them with gear-driven cams. So, I'm curious to see how many have installed these cams or plan to. Also curious as to why HD doesn't go ahead and put these in the bikes and charge more, and eliminate the tensioners altogether.

I replaced with andrews gear driven cam a year ago. They are a little noisy under 2000 RPM but you get used to it. I really like the 26gs I put on my bike and would not give them up!

Gear drive is the way to go. Very easy to do yourself & there are deadly prices on eBay. Cut the pushrods & the stock cams are in the trash in 1/2 hour. Less than $600 in parts for the conversion with EZ-Fit rods.

I posted earlier about possible cam chest problems and so far it turns out to have been piston slap and not chain related. The bike is currently in the shop being repaired under warranty. The chain set-up seems to have finally been perfected and should function well. If it fuctions as it should I will stay with it.
