Well I finally got some time to post what I did to the sled these past 6 months. I left the bike with a buddy of mine at my local dealer while I was in Israel working. They had it for 5 months and did the engine upgrade. When I got home I put some other odds and ends on.
[/b]
SE 103 + heads with compression releases[/b]
SE big bore jugs[/b]
SE forged 10.5.1 pistons[/b]
SE 258 cams[/b]
SE adjustable push rods[/b]
SERT[/b]
102 HP[/b]
100 TQ[/b]
[/b]
I also went with a D&D FatCat 2 into 1 and had JetHot coat it gloss black (love the sound!)[/b]
I put on the IDS, jury is still out on this. I don’t see much difference other than 5th gear seems to be quieter.[/b]
I picked up a set of Wild One Chubby’s and had them powder coated gloss black. Wow what a difference in reach and overall control over the steering of the bike. Probably the best upgrade thus far. I can turn the bike on a dime it seems not to mention the added reach for my short monkey arms.[/b]
I also got another seat (not pictured) Corbin Rumble seat and without getting into a long drawn out post over it all I will say is it was totally screwed up in everyway! Crooked, didn’t fit, guard notches in the wrong spot, bent, etc so it went back. It did however look good on the bike but put me so far back I couldn’t reach the dam brake and shifter so it went back for a fix. I also got rid of the red cross on it. It’s a bit much on the current seat with all the other crosses.[/b]
I picked up the chrome bag latches from Klock Werks and almost blacked them out until I saw them on the bike. I think the chrome provides a nice contrast with all the black.[/b]
I removed the vintage tank emblems for a cleaner look.[/b]
A new ram mount was added to accommodate my Ipod, GPS (very handy!) and phone.[/b]
I took off the old cross horn cover and made the current one from a factory HD round cover. I took the same cross design from the derby along with the derby screws and tapped them into the horn cover to match the derby.[/b]
I added the Kury neck frame covers in black.[/b]
Last I added the Jack Knife highway pegs which mount under the floor board and swing in and out when needed. They are made by IMT and Bart sells them. Be careful with these I dam near dropped the bike when coming to a stop and swinging my foot down they tend to get in the way. They also scrape like a bitc*![/b]
The dyno sheet is posted in the dyno numbers section.[/b]
