Another thing to consider is sale and/or trade-in value. In a few years, that '07 is going to be a hard sell because people are going to want those Brembo brakes (and possibly ABS), IDS, and 6-gallon tank when they go shopping for a nice, late-model used bike. Not all of them, mind you, but certainly enough of them to make the '08+ models more desirable and, consequently, more valuable and an easier sell.

I like the idea of a new versus used/loaner/rental ...call what you will... 14K miles is a lot of miles and dust and dirt and myrstery scratches ...etc.. I'd go for new. Then, the 2nd questions is 07 leftover or 08.. apples for apples, get a NEW bike, add Stage 1 for a bit more power and sound and you'll be much happier for the long haul.

...and that 1.05% interest rate can't be a bad thing if you are financing.

To clarify, that special interest rate applies only to those special Anniversary bikes in the black and copper Anniversary colors and you must finance for 60 months (correction: 36 months or less) which might be a prohibitive factor for some.

That 1.05% financing is great but sadly its only on 105 aniversary edition bikes. I had been leaning towards the new 08 the entire time but that custom paint and 103 kit was definately tempting me towards the used bike. Of course after seeing all the major differences, and yes they are major, I am now predominately leaning towards the 08 with little to no chance of the 07 at this point.

What is IDS btw?

Brett: Regarding the IDS (Isolated Drive System), it's a unit that bolts onto the bike's rear pulley. It has rubber "shoes" in it that isolates the bike from drivetrain harmonics/vibrations. Check the pdf file above for an exploded diagram of it.

Financing on the Ani's are for 36 months only, not 60 or less.

If you aregetting a 2008 bike without ABS I would go with the 2007 model. I purchased an 08 because of ABS.

Also, forget about HD financing, try Capital One, I got 10.25% for a new bike. HD started at 15.5% with 10% down or was it 20%? Capital Onemails you a blank check within five days and you write it to the dealer. They also finance used bikes.
