Myrtle Beach or Laconia?

RE: Myrtle Beach or Laconia?
I've been to MB the past few years and I got to tell you, it's all in what you make of it. The group I go with usually ends up riding during the day and partying at night. We always take the 90 plus mile rode trip to Charleston, which is a awesome city with plenty to do, and we also go to Wilmington NC as well which is about 70 miles from Myrtle. Both rides are fantastic. Charleston has an aircraft carrier you can take a tour of and Wilmington has a old Battle Ship you can tour as well. The Darlington Race Way is not far from Myrtle either. The atmosphere in MB at night is awesome all of the bars, strip clubs, and concerts are usually free. MB does also have a lot of biker bars which are a real treat. The weather last year overall was very good, we only got a half day of rain.

So... if you're going for the riding go to Laconia.. if you're going for the Action, maybe go to Myrtle.
If you're in south Jersey it'll be cheaper and faster getting to Laconia.
Hope that helps.

Yeah, I love to ride but I also love to party, love the eye candy etc. I'm getting the feeling that Laconia has the riding but not the partying?
I am familiar with MB but never during bike week. It sounds like most are saying that you are more likely tomeet partying femalesin MB?
I have been to Delmarva bike week and also "Roar to the Shore" (Wildwood bike week) and had a great time at both albeit most of the riding was getting to and from. Most of my time while there was spent going to bars with a little hanky panky in between.
Even though I'm 60, to sum it up, the wilder the time, the better! Gotta make the most out of the years that I have left! LOL!

I love Myrtle Beach, have been there 7 times. Several years ago I thought once to go to Laconia butit was hard to plan (at that time I didn´t have a computer and internet). ... and theweather ... It´s like Germany in the sumer cold, rainy ....
So we decided again to go to MB also because there is no helmet law and the hospitality. We are always staying from Sunday toSunday andit wasn´t never boring.

Myrtle Beach- much cheaper and fun
I live 2.5 hours from Laconia, and have been going there for 25 years....the last few years the cops and rules have gotten out of hand, I keep vowing to not go back. The prices are out of hand also, the Lobster Pound charged $5 to get in, $4- $5 for a beer, then my gf and I were asked to leave because we were 'swaying' (like maybe dancing) NOT TRUE, we had just gotten there, and the night before we had to go through a sobriety checkpoint, so I was drinking very little. Basically 'give us your money, don't show your ****, then leave and get hassled outside of town.'
can you say 'price gouging'
Weather always cold and rainy....
BUT the riding is much better.
I was shocked at how cheap the beers and food were at Myrtle Beach. And the girls much prettier. (prolly cuz they were't all dressed in warm clothes and rain gear.
That being said, I can't wait for Laconia!!!

Yeah, Nilsa is right.. for the nightlife and parties go for MB all else beoing what it is.. The best time to go north to NH and Vermont is non motorcycle even weeks when you get the roads all to yourself, and even then the better state is Vermont.
From a riding perspective the best event is Americade, the week before Laconia.. but it is even more of a conservative event than Laconia.
Can't beat MB for the sunshine, babes, parties, prices and vendors.. the only thing missing at MB are some decent motorcycle roads. Maybe you can get that by leaving NJ and heading west toward PA any other time of the riding season.
PS Sometimes it rains in MB too, but not like Laconia.. it always seems to rain on Laconia bike week.
