Myrtle Beach or Laconia?

RE: Myrtle Beach or Laconia?
Bike Week here in NH is quite diverse. Lots of country roads to explore. Lots of activities that are bike related like Flat track racing, Hill climb races, road racing at Loudon, lots of people watching to be done a Weirs Beach (I avoid the traffic jam that is Weirs but to each his own), Poker runs, riding the seacoast and then couple hours later riding the mountains.
Bring your rain gear though, early June can be wet and cold, but the next day could be 75 and not a cloud in the sky.
Police are thicker than black flies and not forgiving if your caught misbehaving.

I have limited vacation time and can only attend one of the above events. Which one would most choose and why?

Someday I'll get to Myrtle Beach..............then Daytona...........and maybe Sturgis.

If you decide on Laconia, consider coming to the northeast early enough tocatch the tail end of Americade (the week before Laconia). If you like scenic riding, the Adirondacks and the Lake Placid area is tough to beat. Or, you could catch the tale end of Laconia then head over to Harley Rendevouz (not really what I'm into, but, some people really like it).

Myrtle is the Redneck Riviera. It really is a nasty little city with lots of thugs, drugs, and homeless people. Go about 5 blocks inland and you can easily find them. The riding pretty much sucks, IMO.
Now with that said, I have been going to the MB Spring and Fall Rallies for 15+ years (well less than that for the fall since it hasn't been around but about 10) and go down a time or two on top of the rallies every year.

RE: Myrtle Beach or Laconia?
I've been to both in the past year. Myrtle is 25 miles of vendors, restaurants, traffic lights and pretty girls. There's some riding to be had, but it's pretty damn boring, flat and not all the scenic. I could never complain about the prices in Myrtle though.. the prices are good and I never flet ripped off, as I always have in Daytona.
Okay, so Laconia.. is much smaller from a Vendor perspective.. there's a lot less going on, but THE RIDING IS FABULOUS!! It's also pretty expensive if you're on close to the Weirs Beach area (on a lake, not the ocean) which is where it is held.
So... if you're going for the riding go to Laconia.. if you're going for the Action, maybe go to Myrtle.
If you're in south Jersey it'll be cheaper and faster getting to Laconia.
Hope that helps.
