Question about Stage 1 upgrade and sert
I know this has been brought up before. But I am not clear on a couple of thing. I know the Stage 1 would be the screaming eagle mufflers and the screaming eagle air filter. I am assuming the sert is the screaming eagle race tuner. Here is where I get lost. I buy the race tuner. Do I have to buy the download? What do I need then to get this done including the dyno to the bike. Part numbers would be great. There are a couple dealers in the area if you buy $750.00 worth of screaming eagle stuff they will install it free. All help greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bob.

RE: Question about Stage 1 upgrade and sert
You do not want or need the download. That's just $150.00 down the drain. The SERT will get you everything you need and you have lots more options on the type of exhaust you want. The SERT will tune anything from SE Slipons to Rinehart True Duals without the backfiring and popping you will get with the download. Your performance and gas milage will be better too.
The part number for the late model SERT is: 32107-01D $459.00
The part number for the Screamin' Eagle Pro Air Cleaner is 29440-99C $139.95
These are for late model Twin Cam EFI Bikes

RE: Question about Stage 1 upgrade and sert
Stage 1 is usually the Air intake. Do NOT get the download, but with that being said the same download is the same map you get amongst others with the SERT. That's why I went with the SERT as I could install it myself and put that $150 towards the cost of the SERT and be able to change at anytime with any mods I go.
Get what ever intake and exhaust you want w/ SERT and then have the bike dyno tuned. It should cost about $200-300 for a dyno tuning and if you need a somewhat local shop just let me know.
If you decide to go with the SE Slipons they are a great sounding/looking pipe. It will let you cruise at 80mph and still be able to listen to your radio/passenger.

RE: Question about Stage 1 upgrade and sert
Terry answered very well. I put the SERT on my street glide with the SE air cleaner and a supertrapp 2 into 1 pipe. Dealer installed and dyno tuned and it added 16hp and 8 lbs of tq. The SERT is well worth it.
