RE: Booking Sturgis Campsite? Who recommends what site?
Thanks for theword onHog Heaven guys. Sounds like a decent place where I can party in town or local, and still get some sleep so I can ride the next day. Dr. Hess, i'm also a Canadian but we're not all all a$$holes. You know what it's like, there's always one in the crowd and they don't all wear the same flags. And I don't own pull no trailer, I ride.

I've gotten very good reports from the pastSummer about No Name Campground. You can actually sleep after your partying day/night, aren't too far from town (and they run a shuttle/party bus so you can moon Johnny Law on the way home and won't wait ten deep to use the loo. They've also added some new cabins for folks who don't/won't tent.

I have stayed at the Katmando this last year and it was great. They have food and a small bar there. Its pretty quit at night so you can get a good night sleep. They have buses to take you to town so you dont have to worry about drinking and riding. It was very nice and ran by very nice people. Not a lot of shade tho

Not a problem i'd say, but your going to get a spot with little or no shade cause all the good spots will have gone first, and the rates per night are higher during the event by a normal rate of 2.5 X pre booking rates: i.e. 10.50 now per day vs. 25.00 per day at the gate. (will vary by camp site)

So you can pre-select your campsite for shad and bathroom proximity? I thought it would be a first come thing. As you can tell, I'm new to motorcycle camping. Just got a trailer and planning on some trips and breaking my cherry at the Strug this year.

If your going to stay at Hog Heavan you can pay at the gate when you get there. As far as camping spots it is first come first serve. There are no spots reserved for tent camping. I've been staying there the past few years and like that place. Very friendly peaple and staff.
