Engine Guard or Not

RE: Engine Guard or Not
Leave it on, not only is it for protection if it takes a light fall but some place to stretch my tired dogs on a long ride, stretch them out. My knees are shot from arthritis so after an hour or so I can stretch them out on the highway pegs, it also gives me a foot prop for my foot on the inside corner of the highway peg and heel rest on the boards. Might change the crash bars out one day for something more aesthetically pleasing to my eye.

Maybe a set of lowers will get it to look better to you.

I like the moustache guard, and the one linked above with the built in flip out pegs, but neither of those would work with the factory lowers.

RE: Engine Guard or Not
Something for G$ and anyone else to think about: That new 100+ hp engine I'm sporting was paid for by HIS insurance company after my wheelin' and dealin'. It also covered the new "crashbar" or "engine guard" as it's being called above. The right side of that crashbar was bent back 45-degrees when I was pinned between two trucks lastJanuaryby a guy on 5th Avenue downtown who didn't look when he changed lanes to park in an open spot to my left. I've checked Zanotti's and Chicago Harley-Davidson, but they have neither a PN nor a listing for a "complete lower right leg".
